Badland's Burger & Tortas (Uranium Cafe) Closes
The Grants landmark Uranium Cafe closes once again after 59 years of serving western Valencia County and its latter Cibola County. Of its owners through the course of time no matter how many names changes, one thing has always remained is the respect of keeping the name on the Uranium Cafe sign blade as well as the Cafe letters and neon design. The Uranium Cafe sign blade is one of the many neon signs along the Historic Route 66 in Grants, New Mexico that deserves preservation and restoration to honor our once booming industry of uranium.
